News: Veolia Integrated Waste Management Facility

ChandlerKBS has been appointed by Veolia to develop the capital allowances claim on an Integrated Waste Management Facility for the London Borough of Southwark.

The project consists of the construction of an integrated waste management facility located on a former gasworks on Old Kent Road.  The facility will process up to 220,000 tonnes of household and municipal waste and includes the following assets:

  • Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT)
  • Material Recovery Facility (MRF)
  • Waste Transfer Station.
  • Household Waste Re-use and Recycling Centre (HWRRC).

The MBT will process 87,500 tonnes of waste annually. The MRF will have a capacity to process 85,000 tonnes per annum of co-mingled dry recyclables.  The material will be manually pre-sorted and then screened to separate the waste into different components.
