Senior Project Manager - London

Cumming Management Group, a Cost and Project Management Consultancy within the construction industry, provides a wide range of services to clients spanning several different sectors.
Cumming Management Group are seeking to recruit a Senior Project Manager in our London office.
The role of Senior Project Manager includes the following responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership to Project Management team.
- Promote a culture of sharing knowledge and innovation in order to support and strengthen service delivery and team cohesion.
- Ensure a high standard of service delivery via proactive involvement and effective team performance management.
- Support the implementation of strategic initiatives at service and sector level.
- Resolve conflicts together with the appropriate Director or Associate.
- Mentor, coach and support team members in line with growth aspirations of both business and team member.
- Communicate and engage with team members to convey project strategies, briefs and client requirements.
- Undertake reviews, and strive to exceed client expectations.
- Assume day-to-day delivery responsibility for projects/programmes of work and demonstrate the ability to take on tasks without supervision.
- Drive project performance, service delivery and technical and commercial outcomes.
- Contribute towards the development of the business including preparing and managing responses to Requests for Proposals.
- Promote and develop continued improvement in terms of delivery, processes, templates.
- Ensure service delivery is in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Practice, particularly Health & Safety and Quality Assurance.
- Ensure compliance with client’s corporate governance procedures where applicable.
- Engage fully in the annual performance review process and the achievements of its agreed objectives.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development and continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with corporate business members in order to:
- Identify key stakeholders and their influence
- Understand their aspirations and concerns
- Navigate and prioritise competing client interests
- Document and advise on the project solution, charter, brief
- Continue to manage via a controlled change process through the project lifecycle
- Cascade information effectively throughout the internal and external project teams and wider stakeholder group.
- Clearly document goals, objectives and workstreams and communicate throughout the project team.
- Agree and assign ownership and accountability, with due dates across the programme or project teams including the Client.
- Communicate the critical path and ensure risk mitigations are managed in line with their priorities and criticalities.
- Provide advice on procurement and contracts in conjunction with the Cost Manager.
- Prepare and evaluate tenders, contractor/consultant selection and contract documentation in conjunction with the Cost Manager.
- Provide risk and value management, including facilitation of workshops.
- Provide contract administration in the capacity of a technical professional and in conjunction with the Cost Manager.
- Produce monthly reporting and chair project meetings.
- Develop and manage the Project Programmes and obtaining the buy-in of all stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Ideally degree qualified in real estate, construction, project and/or cost management, engineering or surveying.
- MAPM/MRICS other equivalent qualification or experience.
- Ideally having other recognised Project Management Qualifications such as PRINCE2 Practitioner/Certified Project Manager/MSP/Risk Management/IPMA.
- Ideally have leadership development training, or open to undertaking this.
- Extensive knowledge of the real estate and construction industry technical matters.
- Extensive experience of industry standard forms of contract.
- Excellent technical project management skills including PM Processes such as Risk Management, Opportunities and Issues Planning/Programming, Change control reporting, Stakeholder management and Communications and Value Management.
- Good experience of managing teams and people and strong interpersonal and team building skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with both client and staff.
- Extensive experience of delivering multiple of complex projects and programmes of work through the entire project life cycle.
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and an aptitude for forward planning.
- Energetic and motivated with natural drive and an innovative flair, resourcefulness and ability to adapt to change.
- Sound understanding of HS&E legislation including some formal training/qualifications.
