Highways & Active Travel | Major Infrastructure Initiative: BusConnects Dublin Core Bus Corridors

We are excited to announce we have been successfully appointed to the BusConnects Dublin Core Bus Corridors Infrastructure Works (CBCIW) project to deliver Client Partner Services. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has appointed a dedicated team, including Jacobs, Arup, and Sistra, as Client Partner to oversee the management and delivery of this significant initiative.

The CBCJW is a transformative project aimed at enhancing public transportation across Dublin,  creating approximately 230 km of bus priority lanes and 200 km of cycle routes, making it easier for residents and visitors to navigate the city while promoting sustainable transport options. The project will be implemented in a phased approach, divided into 12 distinct schemes across the Greater Dublin Area. The cost of the project currently stands at €2.62 billion and reflects a strong commitment to improving Dublin’s transport infrastructure and enhancing the overall experience for commuters.

Under the guidance of the NTA, the Client Partner will provide essential support, ensuring effective day-to-day management and leadership throughout the planning, development, and on-site delivery phases. The team will work collaboratively with various delivery partners, including Design & Build contractors, to ensure smooth execution of the works.

The Client Partner's services are categorized into seven broad areas:

  • Project Management Office: Overseeing project execution and progress.
  • Commercial and Cost Management: Ensuring budget adherence and financial oversight.
  • Design and Technical Services: Providing expert guidance on project design.
  • Framework Management and Local Authority Liaison: Coordinating with local authorities and managing technical services.
  • Land, Property, and Planning: Addressing land acquisition and planning requirements.
  • Scheme Delivery and Integration: Ensuring effective delivery and integration of the schemes.
  • Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations: Engaging stakeholders and managing communications.

Stay tuned for updates as we progress with this important project, paving the way for a more accessible and efficient transportation network in Dublin!
