About the project

The A26 is part of the Northern Key Transport Corridor that links Belfast to Antrim, Ballymena, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Limavady and Derry City, and carries in excess of 18,000 vehicles per day.

The project involved the online widening of 7.7km single lane carriageway to dual carriageway standard from Glarryford to the A44 (Drones Road) Junction. Complex sections included the bypassing of the Frosses Trees and the crossing of the River Clough which highlighted the significant environmental sensitivity relating to the delivery scheme.

The works included three compact grade separated junctions, three overbridges, two underbridges, two river structures and 35 culvert structures.and development of a 100 space car parking facility.

ChandlerKBS’ services included cost planning and optioneering, risk management, procurement management, construction phase cost management and NEC contract support to the Project Manager.
