About the project
Limerick City and County Council is currently undertaking the Limerick Urban Centre Revitalisation – O’Connell Street Project.
Phase 1 includes the redistribution of the existing road space along O’Connell Street from Denmark Street to Cecil Street. This space is currently occupied by existing vehicular traffic lanes and intermittent sections of vehicular parking. The client’s vision is to create an attractive and welcoming space which includes provision for public and sustainable transport only, and to provide enhanced space for pedestrians and cyclists whilst maintaining the attractiveness of the street for traders, tourists and locals.
