About the project
Northern Ireland Railway’s track inspection programme identified areas of deteriorating track at four high priority overbridges on the Belfast to Coleraine route. Due to physical constraints and the quality of the existing ballast, remediation through ballast cleaning was not an option therefore track renewal was required at these locations to ensure that a high quality operational permanent way infrastructure was maintained.
ChandlerKBS has supported the development of this project from feasibility stage, which has included a period of Early Contractor Involvement with Translink’s permanent way supplier, procurement of a main contractor through Translink’s civil engineering/civil engineering framework and management of the NEC3 ECC Option A contract.
