About the project
The Cardiff Interchange comprises a 14-stand bus interchange adjacent to Cardiff Central Station, which will form part of Transport for Wales’ multi-modal transport interchange.
The scope includes fixtures, fittings, furniture, M&E services, fire systems, and Transport for Wales branding to the interior finishes. The bus interchange will include passenger and staff facilities, wayfinding, signage and real time passenger information systems, and retail units. The project management service includes the management of the design contract (NEC 3 PSC) and fit-out works construction contract (based on NEC4 ECC Option A).
ChandlerKBS has provided project management services from concept design through to the completion of the fit-out and handover. The Project Manager was responsible for progress monitoring of the building (shell and core contract) which achieving practical completion in Q1 2023 and managed the delivery of the fit-out contract through to completion and handover to Transport for Wales operations in Q2 2024.ChandlerKBS has also provided procurement and commercial management support throughout project development and delivery.
