About the project

This highly complex project comprises the temporary works, enabling works and structural repairs associated with the repairs to the listed London Street overbridge which spans platforms 11 and 12 at Paddington Station, one of the UK’s busiest stations.

The project commenced under reactive work scope when serious defects were identified during routine survey. Emergency propping was installed, and a project initiated to design and undertake repairs to the structure. The structure interacts with both the Paddington Station main shed structure and the neighboring St Mary’s hospital, therefore maintaining its structural integrity is a high priority. The permanent works involve significant structural steelwork and concrete repairs and replacement of the bridge deck and roadway.
